You've seen the Legends of the game, they’re not satisfied with anything but the perfect balance, the finest woods the richest finishes. Nick Varner, Kim Davenport, Jimmy Reid, and the winningest pool player in the history of the game, Mike Sigel. They are just a few players who have had their cues engraved at Laser Art Techniques. Now you can add the same mark of pride to your cue.
Your cues steel joint will be transformed into a work of art. Not only will it be unique, but it will increase the value of your cue! This technique, an etching process that rivals hand engraving, never applied to pool and billiard cue design by anyone else, was introduced by Larry Leiben. He learned cue making and the design and inlay of cues from his good friend Dan Janes of Joss Cues, for whom he worked in 1976-78. It was due to Dan's help that Laser Art Techniques was born in 1985. He allowed Larry to preview his engraving on 15 Joss Cues at the Bingington New York Pool Tournament 1986. Since then he has engraved over 2,500 cues worldwide. Over 600 for Joss Cues alone.
In 1995 Larry moved to Florida to help his friend, Mike Sigel start up Sigel's World Class Cues. Since the mid 80s they had talked many times about making cues, it finally happened when Mike moved to Florida in late 94. His friend the late Mike Belloff financed the business, and the rest is history. Larry and Mike met when they were learning to make cues at Joss in the mid 70s. From 1978 to 1980 Larry was Mike's sponsor on the tournament trail, for those years Mike never placed lower than 3rd, he shot everybody into a coma!
In late 1998, after a year off and back in Baltimore, Larry set up a new studio and resumed engraving. Once your cue is received, He will engrave the joint of your pool or billiard cue with the design of your choice, and return it to you in 3 working days. Prices are $75.00 to $290.00. Your custom designs are welcome. There is a one time art and setup charge for custom designs. Larry also Hand Engraves Custom Joint & Shaft Protectors with the aid of a Stereo Microscope. They are profusely engraved. Prices are $70.00 to $165.00 each, they are mirror-polished aluminum, and are ready for shipment.
